SPOTLIGHT ON... OCKWELLS PARK!

SPOTLIGHT ON... OCKWELLS PARK!

As shifting home priorities have pushed up the value of green open space in recent years, park-adjacent areas such as Ockwells Park, Oaken Grove and the Thicket, have become increasingly sought after by those looking to move to - and within - the Maidenhead area.

For those already living in these park catchments, the potential of any onward home move can often (and understandably) hinge on a small search radius, as the desire to retain invaulable greenscape access, fuels so-called ‘stones throw’ buying behaviours.

This is the 'same area, different property' relocation trend that allows buyers to impove their lifestyle, without necessarily uprooting their life, in a palpable move away from the 'pastures new' thinking of old!

As just one example of Maidenhead's 'park life' property hot spots, Ockwells boasts a relatively low property turnover, and while this demands patience of those commited to buying in this area... it bodes well for those who are resolved to selling.

Among the main selling points, for those currently in the market for a multi tick-box home move, are:

Nature

Ockwells park is 130 acres (53 ha) in size, which includes a nature reserve of 9.3 hectares (23 acres), consisting mainly of meadows, woodland and a stream. The park also features a new wildlife corridor of scrub and woodland habitats, that runs for almost 2km alongside the M4 motorway. This was created as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy - an initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, and was a joint biodiversity-boosting initiative between the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead and its charity partner Groundwork South.

Property

The area features well planned and spacious detached and semi-detached accommodations, most of which boast off-street parking.

Recreation

Ockwells Park is renowned for its sports pitches, and is also home to the Junior Park Run, which is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 2k event for juniors (4 to 14 year olds).

Facilities

Ockwells Park is conveniently situated for Maidenhead’s main shopping and leisure amenities, including the newly opened Braywick Leisure Centre, as well as excellent school catchment options (please check official catchment areas.)

Connections

The area is located approximately 1.2 miles from Maidenhead’s main train line (Paddington/future Crossrail network) and transport links (M4/ M40), with the town’s main bus routes also picking up from within and just outside the main estate.
